On May 19, 2013, a decades-long dream of a permanent home for the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame became reality. You can find the installation in the incredibly beautiful new Music City Center in downtown Nashville. I was thrilled when asked to sing a couple of songs with Don Schlitz and Tom Schuyler for visitors. My wife Rita and my daughter Leslie were in attendance. The Hall of Fame Foundation, along with the NSAI, worked tirelessly to bring this to fruition. Next time you’re visiting downtown Nashville, stop by and wander through the years of great songwriters. I was inducted in 1989; you’ll find me under the B’s. Here’s a few pics from the festivities.

This post is geared toward songwriters signed with a publishing company. A hot industry topic now and into the future, copyright recapture surrounds reclaiming a song given to a publisher. The below video is the first in a series of three. Later videos will cover the differing process for songs written post-1978 and pre-1978.
Lewis Anderson is the go-to person for copyright recapture. I have worked extensively with him on my own catalog and rely on his expertise.

Last Saturday night, I played in a great round at the Bluebird with Kim Williams, Will Robinson, and Mark D. Sanders. The show benefited the John Jarrard Foundation. John was a very talented songwriter (“Blue Clear Sky,” George Strait; “Money In The Bank,” John Anderson; and “You’ve Got The Touch,” Alabama) who passed away from diabetes. The Foundation has raised over $100,000 for diabetes research, awareness, and education. Hope you enjoy the video.
